that all species can share.
What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is the universal life force energy that flows through all living beings.
The teachings and traditions of Reiki are simple and powerful spiritual and energy healing practices.
Reiki is simple, natural, and safe, and can be learned and used by anyone.
Reiki may be shared by and with all species.
Reiki is balancing and nourishing, and can promote stress reduction, relaxation, physical, mental, and spiritual healing,
Reiki can support any other medical, veterinary, or therapeutic modalities or treatments.
Reiki has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds all over the world.
Reiki has been very calming to me, and it has helped me be more still and present with animals and people.

This course is a Continuing Education Provider for the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure & Massage.
NBCAAM supports the world of animal acupressure and massage by setting high standards for entry into the field, and provides certification exams for equine and canine acupressure and massage, as well as networking and legislative assistance for practitioners, students, and schools.
I use Reiki energy daily before I start my “9-5” job and it has benefited me greatly by reducing my stress and feelings of being overwhelmed.

Reiki Level 1 Online Class Structure
This class is offered in an online format that also includes three live class teleconference calls.
A new Class Module is posted each week of the course; all class modules remain open and available for the duration of the course.
Each Class Module contains materials to help you on your journey to becoming a Reiki Level 1 Practitioner:
- Instruction and Information: class materials and instruction
- Experience: guided practice to help you to work with Reiki energy
- Reflection: Guidelines for integrating your experience
- Sharing and Connection: online class community where you can share questions and experiences with Nancy and other class members
- Guidance and Feedback: live and recorded calls where you can receive instruction, expertise, and feedback
- Certificate: students will receive a course certificate from as Level 1 Reiki Practitioners upon completion of the class.
*All calls will be recorded and available to listen to online and download. You are strongly encouraged to come to all of the class calls live, and the first class call (January 20th) is required. If it is missed, a private attunement (25-minute session) is required, which is an additional cost of $175.

About Nancy Windheart, Reiki Master-Teacher
Reiki is one of the most powerful tools that I use in my daily personal life, as well as in my animal communication and intuitive healing practice. As a Reiki Master-Teacher (I am a Professional Member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals), I use Reiki daily for myself, my animal family, and with my human and animal clients.
My journey with Reiki started after I began my professional practice as an animal communicator. I was interested in Reiki because I wanted additional tools that I could offer to my clients and their animals, particularly those who were healing from trauma, or had emotional, behavioral, or physical issues that could benefit from the supportive holistic healing energy that Reiki provides.
I was initially drawn to Reiki as a supportive service that I could offer to my clients and their animal friends. What I didn’t expect, really, was how much Reiki would change MY life.
As a Reiki Master-Teacher, my mission is to share the gift of Reiki and to train people who wish to become Reiki Practitioners. Because of my work as an animal communicator, Reiki for animals is a large part of my professional and teaching practice. Reiki has also become an intimate part of my personal spiritual practice, connecting me more deeply to source energy and the divine love that is available to all beings.

Ruzuku Course Platform
This course is taught on the Ruzuku platform.
Here’s the deal: I’ve been a teacher all of my working life, and I have (ahem) more than a fair bit of experience, including high school, university, and adult education programs. I know a wee something or two about curriculum design.
So, I’m fussy about how I teach what I teach.
I searched and searched for a way to present my classes online that had the curriculum design elements that I wanted and knew my students needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can learn Reiki?
There are no educational prerequisites required to attend beginning Reiki classes. Anyone can learn Reiki who has an open heart and an open mind and a desire to help others. Even people who are skeptical have learned to embrace Reiki as a result of direct experience.
Although many health care practitioners, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, nurses, doctors and therapists use Reiki in their profession, most people who are trained in Reiki begin by using it for their families and friends.
Is Reiki a religion?
No, Reiki is not part of any specific religious practice or tradition. Practicing Reiki can support any religious or spiritual practice, but it is not a religion itself. Reiki is practiced by people within many spiritual traditions, and it is also practiced by people who have no religious or spiritual belief system.
How is Reiki for animals different than Reiki for humans?
Reiki is Reiki; there is no difference in the Reiki energy whether it is used with humans or animals.
However, how humans and other-than-human animals receive Reiki can vary greatly. When sharing Reiki with other-than-human animals, it’s important to understand these differences and practice Reiki in species-appropriate ways. In this class and in the Reiki Level 2 class which follows, we’ll address these differences and practices specifically.
What is the difference between Reiki and other forms of energy healing?
Everything in our world is energy. Everything is comprised of vibration or frequency. Reiki itself is one name for this universal life-force energy. Other names include Chi, Qi, Source, Divine Essence, etc.
The tradition of Reiki practice includes specific tools, practices, and techniques that are a simple and powerful way of working with this universal energy in ways that benefit ourselves and those with whom we share the practice. There are other practices, traditions, and systems which also work with this energy and have their own traditions, tools, and techniques.
Reiki practices and traditions have their own unique energy, vibration, and approach. Reiki is not practiced in a directive, protocol-based way in the way that some healing modalities are structured. Rather, it is a meditation and mindfulness-based practice that can also be used as an energetic healing practice.
I’ve never taken an online class before. Do I need any special technical skills?
No special technical skills are required! All you need is a computer or mobile device with Internet access, an email address, and a Zoom account for the live Zoom class sessions.
The Ruzuku platform is designed to be easy to use, even for novice online learners. The Ruzuku support staff is excellent and consistently available.
I can’t make the live online class sessions. Can I still take the class?
Yes, except for the first session (attunement), which is required. This class is designed so that people from all parts of the world and all kinds of schedules are able to participate. All of the class sessions are recorded, so that you can listen to them at any time.
How long will I have access to the online class materials?
The class materials will be available indefinitely on the Ruzuku platform.
Is taking Reiki online as powerful as taking Reiki in-person?
In a word, yes. Though they are different experiences, the effect and impact of the Reiki attunement is the same.
I have been teaching Reiki online for many years–long before the pandemic–and have found it to be a powerful and effective way for people to receive Reiki training and become Reiki practitioners.
