Professional Animal Communication Practitioners Retreat

Retreat Program

Those of us who practice animal and interspecies communication professionally often find that we are working as solo/independent practitioners, outside a professional community of colleagues and a network of support. Most of us value our independence, and yet, we can miss having the connection and support of others who understand and share this path, as well as mentoring from experienced professionals in the field.

I created this retreat to support the graduates of my Animal Communication Professional Certification Program, as well as other advanced and professional animal communicators who are practicing in the field (by request or invitation).

This small, intimate retreat will provide an opportunity for rest, renewal, connection, and mentoring in a supportive community of animal communication professionals.   We’ll be held in the magical and powerful land of northern New Mexico and the nurturing, earth-conscious energy of the beautiful Rancho Gallina retreat facility.

This retreat will offer you:

  • Rest, renewal, time and space for recharging your batteries
  • Inspiration for your professional practice and your life
  • Quiet time to connect with the land, the animals, and yourself
  • Time for connection with others who share your profession & your passion for animals and all life
  • Mentoring circles with Nancy, where we’ll discuss your questions, things that are coming up for you in your practice and your life, and the joys and challenges of serving people and animals in this capacity
  • Nourishing, beautiful food, ethically-sourced and lovingly prepared
  • New Mexico skies (see above!)
  • Yoga & meditation practices (taught by Nancy) to support your body and spirit

We’ll have time to spend with the resident and wild animals, plants, trees, rocks on the Rancho Gallina property and nearby, in the energy of the mountains and high desert landscape. Our meditations and circles will be guided by our non-human teachers and companions, in co-creation the participants in this retreat. Nancy will offer the teachings and transmissions of her whale and dolphin guides, as well as music, chants, and our morning circles.

Taking care of ourselves is the most powerful thing we can do for the world.

About the Retreat Center

Rancho Gallina is a unique eco-retreat on a historic ranch just south of Santa Fe off the Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway. Originally part of the San Marcos pueblo, the ranch was built in the 1940s for two pioneering women – a frontier doctor and her artist partner. It has since been home to cattle ranchers, horse breeders, and artists.

The historic property has been renovated to extreme green – from low-flow everything to 54 solar PV panels and 3 geothermal heating/cooling systems, no-VOC paint to organic and native gardens watered by a 6,000 gallon rain catchment tank.  It’s a family-run operation that has a deep commitment to sustainability, social responsibility and community-building.

All meals are made from scratch with local, organic, farm-fresh ingredients, including eggs from the resident chickens. Resident animals include Ziggy (cat), Shadow (dog), and the chickens.

Retreat Center Amenities: running, walking, hiking, biking right out the door; a hand-built cedar soaking hot tub out in a field with mountain views and a full stargazing sky; outdoor fire pits, a hammock and outdoor meeting and yoga space, gardens, and outdoor games.

The Rancho Gallina owners and hosts, Mitch and Leslie, serve up some of the best food and coffee anywhere, with loads of experience in the kitchen, including Mitch’s training at the International Culinary Center in NYC.  They prepare healthy, seasonal meals from scratch with a Southwestern flair.

Meals: Our meals will be fresh, homemade, organic, and vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options and as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible.
