I consider interspecies communication to be an essential life skill, perhaps more important now than ever before.
As I witness all that continues to unfold in our world, and see the shifts and changes in my own community and other communities that I love, I continue to ask myself what have become the guiding questions of my life for many years:
What are the gifts that I have to share? What matters most? What is my response, and how do I remain resilient, adaptable, and open-hearted in this time? What is my part to do, and what is the best way to do it?
The essence of the answers to these questions remains consistent, though the specifics may shift at various times. Conscious connection, communication, and relationship with all life…particularly with the vast beauty of the more-than-human beings who share our world, is the foundation, both for my own personal life in terms of joy, resiliency, purpose, and guidance, and also in terms of what I want to offer and share with others in this time.
The good news is that more and more people are waking up to this way of connecting with all life, and more and more we find places where this kind of deep harmony and connection is being created in small pockets, communities, ecosystems all over the Earth.
In some places, this way of being has never been extinguished, In others, it is being reborn, remembered, regenerated. We can be part of this remembering, this reconnection, this renewal.
In this video, I talk more about this idea, and how and why it may be more important than ever before for our species to relearn and remember this natural, innate, universal language, the language of all life.
When we cultivate the qualities of reverence for all life, respect, understanding, and open-heartedness, that energy ripples out and permeates our homes, our families, our communities, and our world. It’s personal, and also collective. Each of us has the capacity to cultivate this awareness, and to remember our innate connection and oneness with all life.
