One of the topics that comes up frequently in my work is the relationship between our thinking minds and our intuition. People often ask:

How can I tell the difference between my own thoughts and intuitive communication with animals?

or

How can I quiet my thinking mind so that I can hear my intuition and the communications of other species?

In this video, I break down some of the differences between thinking and intuition, and why both are important. In our human culture, our intuitive, telepathic ways of knowing have become atrophied and dormant from not being used, honored, and recognized. Consequently, when we begin to recover these abilities, they can feel weak, tentative, or shaky.

In my classes, I often encourage people to “Fertilize the Seedling” or “Praise the Puppy.” What I mean by this is that instead of doubting, discounting, or ignoring our intuitive senses, nudges, small inklings of interspecies communication, and other experiences, we notice them, recognize them, and honor them,

In this way, we are fertilizing, nourishing, and cultivating the innate ways of knowing, sensing, feeling, communicating, and understanding that have simply become dormant from disuse and inattention, and strengthening them so that they become a way of being that is at least as strong as our analytical, thinking, linear, mental abilities.

As we nourish our intuitive abilities, say “yes” to them, and begin to learn practices and tools to strengthen and cultivate them, they will begin to flourish, much like a healthy young plant or animal who is lovingly tended and cared for. This essential skill has immense benefits for ourselves and all of the beings with whom we share our lives and our beloved Earth. Each step that each of us makes to reawaken our intuitive and telepathic abilities impacts not just our lives, but the lives of those around us, in our families, our communities, and in our world.
