I have some exciting news: I will be a guest presenter at the 10th annual Sedona Hummingbird Festival, July 26-29, 2024, sponsored by the International Hummingbird Society.

I would love to meet you in Sedona and have you be a part of this wonderful gathering of hummingbird lovers!

Located in the heart of Sedona’s red rock country, the Sedona Hummingbird Festival features 14 different speaker presentations on various hummingbird topics, hummingbird garden tours, banding demonstrations, birding field trips, breakfasts with hummingbirds, a hummingbird marketplace filled with hummingbird-related supplies and gifts, a raffle, a photo contest, a fun festival dinner, a Kids’ Day featuring crafts, activities, and guest animals, and pre and post-festival workshops on hummingbird photography, painting, and human-hummingbird communication.

The stars of the event are the hummingbirds! There are dozens of hummingbirds at the feeders right at Hummingbird Central (also known as the Sedona Performing Arts Center). You can see even more hummingbirds at the banding locations and on the Garden Tour. As many as eight species of hummer can be found in the Sedona area during the festival.

I’ll be presenting at two festival events: a talk on July 27 and a 1-day communication workshop on July 29.

Hummingbird Perspectives: What do the Hummingbirds Have to Say?

In this presentation, I’ll share what I’ve learned from hummingbirds in my decades-long work as an interspecies communicator and teacher. I’ll give a brief overview of interspecies communication and how it can be helpful in understanding the perspectives of other-than-human beings, including hummingbirds.

I’ll share some of the unique perspectives of hummingbirds on their lives, their consciousness and awareness, including their perspective on humans and the impacts of climate change on the health of their populations and the Earth.

There will also be time for questions and discussion after the presentation.

Human-Hummingbird Interspecies Communication

This will be a unique animal communication workshop focused on hummingbirds.

In this 6-hour program (divided into a morning and afternoon session), you will have an opportunity to “unplug” from your normal life and learn new ways of being and understanding. You will experience new ways of listening through practices of silence, guided exercises and meditations, and other practices designed to help you open your internal intuitive and telepathic senses and listen and hear in new ways.

We will practice with hummingbirds and other animals both in person and at a distance, and have time for questions, feedback and guidance.

  • Explore how you have already communicated telepathically with animals and expand on your experiences.
  • Learn and practice tools for sending and receiving telepathic communication.
  • Understand the levels of communication that are possible with other species.
  • Learn how to experience animals’ perspectives and viewpoints.
  • Enjoy exercises and meditations that open your heart, increase your awareness and understanding of animals, and your receptivity to telepathic communication.

Come prepared to open into new ways of being and perceiving with me, the other workshop participants, the local hummingbirds, and the beautiful, nurturing energy of our host home. The workshop will be held in a private Sedona residence less than 4 miles from Hummingbird Central, with spectacular red rock views and dozens of hummingbirds at the feeders.

I’m delighted to be able to return to Sedona for this event. In addition to my presentation and workshop, there are many other wonderful guest speakers and teachers, including naturalists, photographers, expert birders, artists, and biologists.

The International Hummingbird Society does incredible work in hummingbird education, protection, and conservation. I hope that you will join me for this educational, fun-filled weekend up close and personal with the hummingbirds and the humans who love them!
